VMForMac · Effective October 23, 2026
VMForMac does not require an account, and it contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or advertising SDKs. The developer does not collect or receive any personal data from the app.
Your virtual machines, disk images, snapshots and settings stay on your Mac, in the app's container. Nothing is uploaded to the developer.
When you choose to download an operating system image or drivers, the app connects directly to the publisher's servers, for example Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Kali Linux, Apple (macOS restore images), and the virtio-win driver project or Fedora (Windows drivers). Those servers see the usual request information, such as your IP address and the app name and version in the user agent, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
The user name and password you enter for unattended Windows setup are written only to a setup file inside that virtual machine on your Mac. They are never sent to the developer.
If you turn on audio input for a virtual machine, macOS asks for your permission. The audio goes only to the guest operating system on your Mac.
Virtual machines can reach the internet through your Mac. What a guest operating system and its software do online is governed by that system and its own privacy policies. Clipboard sharing happens locally between your Mac and the virtual machine only.
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
